Technologically impaired
I hate that I was born in a time where we had black and white TVs with "rabbit ear" antennas. There was no such thing as VCRs, DVDs, cell phones, microwaves, home computers, remote control anything, MP3 players, etc., etc., etc.,.... I bought myself an MP3 player for Christmas. The thinking was that I wouldn't have to carry around a portable CD player (something else that wasn't invented when I was a child...). However, (yes I realize that it is already the end of February, and that Christmas was 2 months ago...) putting the music that I want onto the MP3 player sounds so much easier than it is. First, you have to "rip" it onto the computer (and if you aren't connected to the internet, that creates another set of problems...). THEN you can put them on the MP3 player. Wait! You have to put them in MP3 player form? What's that?! I feell so very stupid when I have to have my teenagers show me how to do something that to them is second nature. I wonder if my parents ever felt old when we began using calculators that fit in our hands? I remember my dad's first calculator was upwards of $500, and it weighed a good two or three pounds. We were not allowed to use it. Now, you get one free when you open a checking account, and it's the same size as your favorite credit card! I shall now finish "ripping" my record, oops, I mean CD collection onto the computer in MP3 format. Then, I will ask my child to put it onto the MP3 player..... Don't even get me started on the satellite dish....
